Shadows

While the shadows are favored by Kyrioth himself, they are the lifeblood of his followers. A follower of Kyrioth stays within them as much as possible, using them as both a cover and misdirection. In the areas of Omiralon where it is legal to worship Kyrioth, followers often adorn their bodies with black, twisting tattoos to represent the power of the shadows and help them blend into them more easily. In those locations where the worship is outlawed, the tattoos are often small and hidden under clothing or merely painted on prior to an important day or ritual.

Assassination

While the followers of Kyrioth are often associated with murder, they hold themselves to a higher standard, separating themselves by distinguishing between common murder and assassination. To the devout, a murder without a goal or purpose is unacceptable, and not worthy of the skill standard to which they hold themselves. leadership among the devout is measured by the number and status of the believers completed assassinations. Many believers have neither but have converted with a specific target in mind. These acolytes are welcomed, though some would say they are used simply as a means to expand a target list by the more senior believers or to be used as distractions or scapegoats should an attempt fail.

The Desert

Without trees or other sources of shade, it is said the desert is the most difficult place to hide. Believers of Kyrioth state this as the reason the deity is associated with such places, believing it to be a show of strength; even the desert can be shrouded in shadow by Kyrioth's gaze. Others speculate that the desert is a symbol for the depravity of the beliefs of the devout, or that it is where the bodies of successful assassinations are dumped, but neither of these holds any merit. Regardless, the Deserts of Omiralon are seen as desolate, deadly places by most of its inhabitants, an association the believers of Kyrioth have no desire to change.

Tenets of Faith

  • A mask hides the face, but the shadows hide all.
  • Waste not talent on commoners, but set your sights on those whose loss will create the greatest change.
  • To hide in plain sight is the highest test and the greatest praise.
