Potions and their Use

Much like the merging of spells and mundane items to create magical items, the creation of magical provisions (both food and drink) has been experimented with throughout history by the magic users of Omiralon. Where it differs, however, is in the difficulty in repeatability and stability of the magic placed in such items, due to the widely varying natures of such items. Where the creation of a sword typically involves only a few main resources that vary little in type and quantity, food and drink vary in their ingredients highly, making them difficult to control. The benefit of dealing with edible items comes in the intrinsic power conveyed following the ingesting of such items. Magic placed on the provision is strong, with an effect greater than what one might expect from a typical enchantment, but can affect each user differently. This, over time, lead to their use being perview of the desperate, heedless, or the truly ambitious.
