Mana

Mana is a powerful metaphysical energy, taking the form of a blue, liquid-like material similar in form to that of blood. Theoretically, Mana has existed since before even the dawn of time; existing in various quantities within every universe. As it just so happens, the universe Earth resides in, as well as the other universes within the Set Of Nine; have a massive amount of Mana that has existed to this day; even when it was forcibly hidden away or repressed through various means.

Localization

Mana, atleast in the timespan between the supposed 10,000 Days and The Bloom, had existed in very faint quantities, with few practicing it in secret. Oftentimes, often out of an unknown; irrational fear that has been observed in some humans, this has resulted in an attempted backlash against the practitioners of magic, resulting in events such as the Salem Witch Trials in the late 1600s. However, when The Bloom occured; few were able to stop the rapid growth of Mana in the world, thanks to the Deepcore Foundation pushing it into many fields including scientific; as well as the existence of Edenite becoming prevalent throughout the world. When Mana is used alongside Edenite and other technologies invented in the mid 1960s, it can create rechargable Mana Batteries, which are used in various machinery and magical devices that take advantage of Mana-Electricity Conversion.

On the topic of Edenite, it itself is an oddity in regards to that of Mana. For one thing, it's a solid form of Mana, despite the fact that Mana cannot be converted into Edenite; although it can be infused into it. Although Edenite is relatively new in terms of the universe's existence-- theorized to have existed since the time of the supposed 10,000 Days, Mana has been in existence long before that. How Edenite is formed is unknown.

Effects On The Human Body

When a human is exposed to Mana, they begin to hold the magical material within their body, with it acting as a force of energy that builds up within them. In the event of a human having a sufficent enough amount of Mana within their body, their very bloodstream will begin to show signs of Mana within it, turning into a light-blue color when exposed outside of the body. While humanity has allegedly not been exposed to Mana for eons, a majority of humans are able to expell Mana through the application of magic.

When a Human is exposed to too much Mana, they will suffer from Mana Overexposure Disorder; transforming them into an entirely different being. This has resulted in humans turning into unique creatures; or becoming part of a species such as Mothians or Alraunes.
