Fae drake

Habitat

  • Tiny creatures that live in the forests of the first world
  • Have a knack of finding cracks in the fabric of space and travelling to the prime material
  • In great numbers in the forests of the Anvil
  • They generally prefer to spend their time up in the canopy but they do hunt on the ground
  • Hunters

  • They eat mostly rodents, bugs and large spiders but love eating sugar
  • in addition they love eating oily nuts like the nuts of the Olimer tree
  • they hunt in packs of four to seven drakes
  • Fae drakes use their claws and bite to hunt and they tend to use their false wings to scare and corner their pray
  • Their tactics revolve around ambushing and cornering their prey but they are very adaptable in their style of hunting depending on the situation and time of the year.
  •

    Behaviour

  • Friendly although a bit scared to begin with
  • They tend to sleep during the day and hunt during the later hours.
  • During night time they gather in big lumps on top of trees and rest together
  • At any given time two of the slither (pack) always stay awake to protect the rest from danger
  • They are known to put on fires because they like to play and sleep on warm coals
  • Fae drakes lay clutches of eggs once every five years, about five to six eggs per clutch. When they do they become extremely territorial and aggressive beyond any other circumstance. It is the fathers that will spend five months protecting the eggs while the females of the group go out to hunt to feed the fathers.
  • When the eggs hatch the roles reverse, the mother will rear the children while the fathers go out hunting.
  • Defenses

  • Hard chitinous scales that glitter iridescent in the sun
  • they have an elecrifying aura that is not deadly to humanoids but can hurt smaller animals.

Aaa, they're so cute! You say the wings are false wings, does that mean they can't fly? Are they like sugar gliders, where there's enough of the membrane to glide down from the canopy?
