The Transfers

Almost like clockwork every 370 days the lands of Anvil grow by a new piece of land appearing and replacing a part of teh great flat sea or expanding the borders of the plain. This phenomenon of the arrival of a new chunk of land from another realm wholesale and instantenously is called a "Transfer"

The Arrival

According to the locals for the last 10 years of so, the great ocean of their world started to be replaced by lands and people that found themselves suddenly transported here. Minutes before a new transfer is initiated it is said that a great black hole appears in the sky, visible from almost everywhere across the plate of Anvil. The appearance of the great darkness in the sky is followed by a loud booming sound like a long lasting and vibrating thunder. As sudden as it appeared 30 heartbeats later, the hole disappears and the clouds above the lands that just appears clear of all clouds.

Premeditation

Little is know of the reason the transfers happen or by whom, but it is almost certainty that they are not a random occurence and that there is a very powerful being behind each of them. Most of the transfers, with some exceptions cause no harm to the land, it's people or the lands and people that find themselves in Anvil. It seems like the incoming lands fit together, like well designed pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
