Calm Belt

The calm belt is a thin (relatively speaking) stretch of water running parallel to the Grand Line on both sides. The calm belt is almost impossible to traverse because there is no wind currents. On top of that, Sea Kings live in that portion of the sea attacking anything that attempts to cross it. No one in their right mind would attempt to cross the calm belt, and that goes for people stuck in the Grand Line.
