Esperit

Geography

Esperit is the expanse between planes within the Planar Disc. It is not the source of any magical energy itself, but is instead the aether through which magical energy flows. On astral voyages, it has been described as a kind of viscous medium by which one travels through between worlds. It fills the lungs, making breathing not only impossible, but unneeded, as the magic energy which flows through it is capable of sustaining one's body. One's body becomes weightless, allowing freedom to drift through space as if flying. As far as its appearance goes, Esperit is speckled with glowing orbs of light which float in the aether, as well as vibrant, luminescent clouds of stardust. The World River flows through Esperit, leading to the different worlds, and the home of the gods also exists within Esperit. The sphere is inhabited by not only the gods and their consorts, but also vast, aether-dwelling creatures, too large to exist on any other plane.
