Worshippers of Markath worship him as a god of ambition and perseverance. To be a worshipper of Markath is to never give up until your goals are achieved. For mainstream worshippers, these are simply everyday goals and aspirations, but for extremists and cultists, this is often to subjugation and enslavement of others, as Markath is also the god of domination.

Markath is the god of ambition, and so wishes to gain as much power as possible by any means necessary. Amon specific goals, it is difficult to say at any given time, as he is also a god of cunning and treachery, and works in secret, underhanded ways.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Markath, due to his controversial nature as a god, is depicted in vast differing ways according to what the people's opinions of him are. In areas that view him as a divine villain, he is often depicted as something akin to a demon, with black or grey skin and wielding chains and whips, representing his role as god of domination. Elsewhere, he is represented as man in elaborate robes holding an ornate dagger in one hand and a quill in the other, symbolic of both his use of diplomacy and force to achieve goals, as well as his penchant for working in secret. He is also sometimes depicted with a sword, representing the Burning Blade, one of the mythic Seven Keys used to seal away Eo, the god of time.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Markath was the spark which ignited the First War before the Second Creation, and the war was his ploy to seize the Godthrone from his older brother, Barakil. This war resulted in the destruction of Ontus, and ultimately lead to the necessity of the Second Creation, in which Ontus was separated into individual planes.
Morality & Philosophy
For Markath, anything is justified so long as it gets him ahead. He pays no heed to morals or ideals, and considers such things a hinderance and a form of weakness.

Markath is motivated by a perpetual lust for power, as he is the embodiment of ambition. He will do anything to attain this power, even if it means making temporary sacrifices.

Markath is considered the younger brother of Barakil. It is believed he may be analogous to Morkr, the Jornic god of cunning and deception, and may also be related to various other gods in other pantheons.
