Dagda

Dagda is the god of the hearth, home, and fields in the Wild Dynasty. He is the brother of Morigana, the husband of Danu, and the father of Brigid and Lugos.   In stories of Dagda, he tends to be affable, optimistic, and easy-going. However, when someone threatens something he loves—be it his lands, his people, or his beloved wife—his justice is terrifying and swift.   The main temple to Dagda is Ruiménya-in-Dagda, which sits in western Scalados north of Enchalmida. It is the most generous and open of the temple-campuses of the Wild Dynasty, frequently opening its doors for both sacred and secular holidays and operating food banks in nearby communities with the labor of its nuns and trainees.

Divine Domains

Dagda's primary associations are with hearth, field, and agriculture; more broadly, he is a god of generosity and of plenty. He is the patron god of farmers and bakers, and well-loved within the rural fields and orchards of Scalados. His associated Elvish element is nwyfre.

Artifacts

A broadsword of pure white stone, hundreds of feet tall, sticks up from the land outside Ladenfarnë. The faithful believe that Dagda used this sword in the wars of the gods between the Ages of History, and plunged it into the earth as soon as he no longer had need of it.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of Dagda believe in the inherent goodness of the world and the people in it. To them, each season grants a new gift to collect, and all contribute in their own way to the rhythm of life. They believe in showing grace and hospitality to all; no matter their background or past actions, no one is truly beyond forgiveness.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Dagda is usually depicted as a rotund, broad-shouldered man with a red beard, carrying a large sack of seeds over his shoulder. Most depictions of the god display him as a Half-Elf; alternately, some imagine him with Wood Elf features, despite his ever-present beard.
