Eldatar

The Eldatar (literally "elf-king") is the head of state of the Kingdom of Scalados. They rule from the ancient royal palace in Kyolondë. The most recent legitimate Eldatar was Supedo I, who died under mysterious circumstances in late July Y1111. Valòmar Lona te-Morigana assumed the title; the location of Supedo's children is unknown at the current time.
To mitigate the chances of ongoing gerontocracy, the title of Eldatar typically skips at least one generation. This tradition stretches back to the reign of Queen Scala I, who passed the title on to her grandson King Arcturos I upon her death.
