Vin la-Filia

Vin la-Filia is a special fortified red wine made on the island of Filia infused with extract from the Nousta-Nopeüsta mushroom. It is popular throughout the Aquatic Kingdoms for its simultaneously relaxing and stimulating effects, particularly among artists and arcanists.

Extraordinary stuff, Vin la-Filia... Entire swaths of the fair isle are fueled by it. Nobles, archmages, and artistic geniuses consider it their elixir of life. When in Filia, do as the Filians—and I embraced the beverage as well and thoroughly as the finest of them. History

Vin la-Filia was invented by the dwarven alchemist Siegfried Vinfromm, as part of a Y1099 competition across the Aquatic Kingdoms to celebrate the Golden Millennium with a "potion for a new age." Controversially, mixture came in second in the competition behind a youth-restoring potion by traveling alchemist John Wellington Wells, which later turned out to be a long-acting variant of the disguise self spell. Nevertheless, Vin la-Filia—significantly cheaper and easier to make than most potions—gained rapid popularity throughout Filia and spread widely across the Kingdoms via trade.
