Outer Plane
"Some humans claim that the world is contained in a celestial sphere and that outside the sphere there is water. The stars in the night are holes in the sphere and the twinkling is caused by the light dancing on the waves of the water. Now I may not be a scientist and I have no idea what those glowing things are, but I do recognize nonsense when I hear it."
-Excerpt from the report of Boundary Walker Tharum Elbediem Frehas, of the Am'Thurbd Scouting Division
Geography
One should not assume that the logic of the Inner Plane has any validity in the Outer Plane. The land first encountered by a Boundary Walker is a reverse sphere, where things fall downwards instead of upwards. The land disappears after a distance determined by one's height, called a horizon. The world is illuminated half the time by a bright object above, and by numerous dimmer ones in the other half, occasionally by one object whose brightness varies.
While their nature is unknown, the objects above seem to obey a certain order and the apparent lack of direct obstacles in the way towards them leaves open the possibility of reaching them. However, as one peers down a looking glass in the abyss above, an unnerving feeling tends to overcome them. That the abyss is endless and the Inner Plane is just the inside of a tiny yeruvan's shell by comparison.
Fauna & Flora
Life here is bound to the lightbringer object high above. A new form of life called plants feeds directly from its light. Animals are symmetric, usually with a limited number of limbs. And for reasons unknown, one of these alien lifeforms can link their conscience with that of a Boundary Walker, allowing access to the senses and body of the alien and further exploration of this realm by the traverser.
