Handy Hat

Handy hats are hats that have a singular mechanical arm and hand attached to them. These hands can do minor tasks, like holding a torch, plucking berries, or feeding their wearer, and are controlled by the wearer's imagination. They cannot, however, lift heavy objects or wield weapons. Experiments to lift this limitation have so far always resulted in serious injuries on the side of the wearer. Handy hats come in various sizes and designs. The most common one is a simple metal pot-hat with an arm and fingers made from thin metal beams. More sophisticated variants include top hats, straw hats, and proper plate helmets, as well as arms covered in various protective or decorative layers of leather, cloth, or illusory skin.
