Gnomes

Gnomes are known well for being technological savants, glass cannons of explosive might and magical mysticism. Most Gnomes can be described in a word as "mad scientists," and many of them find themselves taking their work a little too far. While many stay grounded in reality as well as their own mortality, many other more eccentric gnomes lean into their experiments, pushing the limits of what is possible with the mortal body by way of clockwork prosthetics and magic enhancements. These artificers and wizards that truly push their limits are closer to golems than mortals, and some who do so lose shreds of mortality and sanity in the process - not like gnomes retained much sanity in the first place.

These dread artificiers are revered in Gnome society for their power and wonderous accomplishment. Any of the small Gnome societies that crop up revere them, and they are generally raised up in their social structure.

As for actual Gnome societies, Gnomes tend to avoid community, favoring chaos, as comes with their nature. Gnome societies do exist, but in limited amounts.
