Pale Devils

Pale Devils are the lowest order of devils and are generally regarded as the least powerful. Typically summoned to perform mundane tasks such as physical labor or guard work, they are given long names to shed in order to keep them under control.

Short, squat, asexual, and bulbous, pale devil's wild variance in physical form is extremely noticeable - being much closer to the chaotic fire from which they are birthed. All pale devils have silver or light green blood, which is brewed into a common form of devil liquor known to grant the imbiber extremely fast healing. Pale devils can regrow lost limbs quite comfortably, and tend to swell in size the longer they live. Very large pale devils are often used as beasts of burden or workhorse mounts.

Although they cannot speak, have little personality, and show little understanding or interest in advanced topics, they have a capable and at times keen intelligence. They often have odd habits, such as compulsive counting or cleaning, are very good at repetitive tasks, and show a surprising amount of intuition and cunning when pressed.

Pale devils will perform most tasks without a great deal of skill, but also without question. Like other devils, they do not require or even seem to understand the concept or rest or sustenance. This makes them very popular servants, for a pale devil will not only remain obedient, but will also be very unlikely to discover the nature of their secret names and change color. When such as event does occur, and a pale transforms into a blue or even a red devil, the results can be catastrophic for their summoner.
