Giant Black Snake

An extremely dangerous monster from the depth of Carsil. This non-venomous serpent is a fast killer that hides in Caril's giant trees to ambush prey larger than itself to strangle them until their organs compress. Black Snakes grow all of their lives, seemingly without limit. Few are those who survived an encounter with the eldest specimen.
They are living muscles whose skin has been strengthened by an abundance of mana. Not only can they propel themselves at incredible speed they can also absorb the blows and spells of veteran soldiers and adventurers. Even Heroes and Demon Lord cannot battle these fiends unscatthed when they reach their prime. However, capturing or killing the younger specimen remains a prowess that solidifies the slayer's reputation as an expert.

Genetics and Reproduction

They lay eggs. Giant Snakes protect their nest but also carry them with them on hunts. While the bottom of their body surrounds the eggs, their upper body snatches snacks below the foliage with lightning speed.

Great ambushers. Patient, they can create nests by grabbing rocks and branches. Easily baited by smels.
