An gloomy Imp student at the Mako Marik battle-school, getting old for an Imp. Sickly and slow, physical exercise is a great challenge for him. In turn, he is constantly beratted by others his age who treat him as a beast of burden and a slave. However, he is quite knowledgeable and wry, which has kept his grades up in the ladder.
Nobody knows about Mako Marith's youth like Hephaeton. He keeps tab on all the big fishes, and knows just who to bet on in the Name-Pit or during duels. He managed to earn a bit of coin for his counsels, but most of those are bullied out of him a few days latter. The same coin is then bullied out of the bullies by stronger bullies who keep a percentage. It's a strange cycle, but Hephaeton has learned to walk along it. All he really needs is a trustworthy partner who can protect him, and for that, Hephaeton needs to plan carefully.
