Lord-Orator Lorician Ophion
"None deny the usefulness of the other races. I do not deny their potential or contest our integrating them within the ranks, and let it never be said I did deny it. Yet, to infer that we were wrong to subdue their kinds is beyond appalling. This I deny and contest and always will counter till my dying breath. A conquest was needed, and still is needed and will be needed lest our Empire rots ever further."
Ophion on the morality of integrating other races by force.
The constantly frowning Patriarch of the Lorician Clan has seen it all and heard it all. As Lord-Orator, he is in charge of the cultural side of rulership and serves as the public voice of the Imperial Council to all citizens of the Empire via the Wordreach, the civil service in charge of news delivery and much more. While not as diplomaticaly dedicated as the Lord-Politikar, he has a say over the political decisions. He is the de-facto leader of the Expansionist faction known as the Banner of Triumph.
His long experience as a politician is no joke, he was a ardent opposition against both Velian Reforms and managed to sway City-States from turning from Demon traditions. But Ophion doesn't let politics and old grudges stand in the way of his important work as Councilor. He coordinates efforts with the various governors and handles much of the bureaucracy.
Recently, this old Archdemon has met the bane of his existence in the form of the Spymaster. The young aide of secret services to the Lord-Emperor himself. In her young age, familiar speech, and unknown origin, Phion is reminded of his enemies of old and his instincts scream to not trust her with anything. Loyal to the Empire however, the Lord-Orator keeps his mouth shut on the subject, most of the time anyway...
