One-One-One

"I'm the best thing that happened to the Citadel since the Conquest!"
One, confident in his fate.
In Imperial society, dominance is a valued trait that even children crave. In the Battle-Schools, there is not so much bullying as a constant vie for power and notoriety among the Imps. To demonstrate their cunning, ruthlessness and leadership the children compete outside the lessons to rule their years. In the most brutal of those Battle-School was a promising youth endowed with a peculiar number. One-One-One, or simply One, was nearing the top of the pyramid within the Red Citadel with a gang at his back and victories on his belt. He enjoyed picking on new recruits to integrate them to his followers and keep his 'social skills' sharp.   First beaten publicly by Eight-Two-Sixteen, One-One-One swore to prove himself. One was further humiliated by Aroth during his name pit fight, he nonetheless followed through his military path all the way to the massacre of Mor Toith. Jealous and prideful, he was still a devoted legionnaire. When captured by captain Daniel Vandega, Culler of the Meek, he refused to give up his comrades and perished under torture.
