Tetrakheires

"Simpler bases trump any change." Unknown
An extinct species of four-armed humanoids. There are few artifacts of their existence save a few buried skeletons and what little fragments of buildings and cave paintings survived the passage of time. Not much is known as to who they were or what they civilization was like outside their odd appearance. Some scholars joke that this race must have exhausted itself trying to make sense of their extra appendage effectively. The truth may not be so far from the jest.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Bipedal hairless mammals almost identical to Humans save for a second pair of arms behind their first.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Presumably omnivorous like Humans. The added apendages would require supplementary sustenance because of the energy required to move them around and maintain them.

Civilization and Culture

History

It is assumed that Tetrakheires inhabited the slopes of the Mount Ebenos centuries before Demons were sent on the continent. Remains found in clay helped ascertain their appearances and the fact they wore clothes. How and why they died out is uncertain as there are no writings to study. The few existing drawings only tell of their daily routine; hunting, raising buildings and gathering forage. The absence of violence in these records suggests the end of their society was not brutal.
