The Apogee

"What use was for armies to move when gods fought before our eyes? We figured better to stay out their way and let the best monster win."
Forternian soldier who survived witnessing the Apogee
What is known as the Apogee is the single most impressive display of combat prowess ever witnessed in Orbido. The "battle" happened near the End of the Eternal Conquest. It was first supposed to oppose the Demon Legion against the rebellious forces of the Eastern Realms. The presence of both faction's armies felt almost irrelevant as combat between the Demon Lords and Heroes started. No conflict involved such tiers of powers before, and it was fair to assume none ever would until the events of The Massacre of Mor Toith.   Water drills turned hills into caves, fiery explosions rent solid rock to molten mud, titanic steps redrew the landscape and lightning strikes repeatedly filled the air. When the fight came to hand to hand, it was not that dissimilar. The superhuman bodies of Demon Lords and Heroes flew through the air with every blows, scattering trees and digging into the ground upon impacts.   The fight ended with the death of multiple Hero casualties, two Demon Lords slain, and the "capture" of the Lord-General of the time, Ar Amon, the Child-slayer., after the battle through trickery.
