The Name Pit
In order to obtain a name, Demons do not rely on the wisdom of their parents. A name must be earned and chosen by the child. Having the choice at an early period gives a valuable lesson for the future, that every choice counts, even the ones made while we had trouble putting on clothes.
But the madness doesn't stop there, to earn the name, the Demon children have to fight in an arena against other children. The rankings from the tournament allow to pick the names available from the registry, as well as creating their own if they so wish.
Thankfully, the fight implies a point system where twelve clean hits on specific areas of the body equivocate to victory.
History
The name pit fights began with the experimentation of the dreaded Demon Lord who designed the modern breeding and education system for Demons.
Components and tools
Combatants must fight with leather bonds over their libs in order not to damage each other.
Stycky powder is spread on the children's weak spot so that when a hit connects, the powder sticks to the attackant's glove, confirming the success.
Participants
Imp children need to be at least 5 years old in order to participate. Other races have specific ages to participate as well (Imp grow faster than humans, Lega grow faster than Imps...)
A referee is in charge of preventing cheating or damage between the contestants, as well as counting hits.
Observance
The rites happen in the middle of each season, on the 45th day of Summer, Autumn, WInter, and Spring.
