Orcovian Common

The basic language of all beings born and raised in Orcovia, established at the very end of the Orcovian Dark Times as a sign of unity between previously warring countries. It's usage is exceptionally common, hence the name, being the first language of every country in Orcovia. At the end of the Dark Times, the leaders of each country in Orcovia met to discuss peace arrangements and make a treaty to ensure no war similar to those experienced prior to that point ever occurred again without due cause. As this meeting occurred between previously warring leaders, there was no common spoken language; the idea of deciding one country's language to converse in raised fears of further angering each leader and therefore endangering the treaty. Due to this, a plan was formed to create a spell that made a common language collated of the dialects and morphology of all Orcovian countries' languages and magically teaching it to the leaders and diplomats of each country in order to be spoken for the peace talks. This language worked so well between the leaders that it was proposed that as a further act of peace, all Orcovian countries used this language, named Orcovian Common, as a first language and reserved their previous individual languages as secondary, learned languages.

Geographical Distribution

The language is used across every country of Orcovia, even being spoken by the Aerie folk and the Eagorans, despite their cultural divide from the folk of the countries in which they reside. It is the language of trade and diplomacy, used therefore throughout each country as a first language and is spoken by most or all sapient Orcovian beings.

Vocabulary

The vocabulary and dialect specific use varies from country to country; much like a regional accent and dialect, while all Orcovian counties use the same base language, dialect use is often varied by country.
