Dragonborn

Summary   Dragonborn look very much like their namesake in humanoid form: covered in scales, with blunt snouts, reptilian eyes, horned ridges upon their head, scaly tails that reach the ground, and taloned limbs. A dragonborn stands at around human height with the addition of the ridges and frills upon their heads, 5 and a half feet to 6 and a half feet tall. A Dragonborn weighs anywhere from 175 to 300 pounds. Most dragonborn have scales with dulled color and shine of muted reds, oranges, browns, or dark greens. Dragonborn sorcerers and nobility however have scales that are sharper in color or more lustrous, emulating the ancient blood of their chromatic and metallic ancestors. Dragonborn are coldblooded reptiles rather than mammals, and as such they have neither hair nor breasts. Dragonborn males have larger, more developed ridges of horn on their head and face while females have smoother features. These ridges of bone often grow across the brow, along the top of the head, or along the underside of the cheekbones and snout. The average Dragonborn lives a very long life, reaching adulthood in their late 20s and living for nearly 150 years.   Dragonborn culture highly values Thaumaturges (wizards), Shifu (monks), and Ancient Blooded Ones (sorcerers) but disregards clerics as being archaic, sanctimonious, and ignorant.

Dragonborn Traits

Ability Score Increase: Your Intelligence score increases by 2.   Size and Speed: You are medium size and have a base walking speed of 30 feet   Breath Weapon: You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Pick a dragon type. That dragon type is the heritage that manifests most strongly in you, and determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
