Dwarf
Summary
Hardy, stout, and bold, dwarves are rugged clansmen of the north known for their bravery. Standing a head shorter than most humans, Dwarves are 4 to to 5 feet tall and weigh significantly more than other races for their height, coming in at 220 to 350 pounds. Dwarves tend to have pale skin, or grey in the case that they live too far north to see the sun frequently. Their hair is shiny and gleams when hit by the light. Its colors range from firey red, to dark browns and blacks, to bright blonde and grey. Dwarves put a lot of pride in the fashion of their hair: men tend to keep their heads cut short and have long beards as a rule. These beards are braided, ornamented, and displayed with incredible detail and care. Dwarven women on the other hand, take great pains to keep their hair long, longer even than they are tall and braid, wrap, and pin it in patterns of such incredible intricacy and ornamentation that it outdoes even the beards of the men. Such hair braiding and weaving is attributed to the Dwarven goddess Oddruun, and is a key part of Dwarven culture and as such it is not uncommon to see Dwarvish women with shorter beards, especially among the nobility who use them for further ornamentation. Dwarves live fairly long lives, maturing at around 20 and living for just beyond a century.
