He runs The Crowded Hearth, an inn and tavern in Celestia which contains infinite rooms and is oftened filled with skilled mortal performers and bands of mortal travelers who have lost their way home.
Appearance
Jack Daniels is a tan skinned man who wears the comfortable brown clothes of a commoner and a vest. He has messy locks of curly dark hair that roll off of his prodigious head, and a barely kept full beard surrounding his gregarious grin. Jack Daniels has a disproportionately large head and hands, and his size changes to fit the company he is in, ensuring that he never need duck under a doorframe or lay padding on a chair to fit in. He is recognised most for his loud, hearty laugh and full toothed grin that seems at times to be larger than even his head.
Personality
Jack Daniels is famously affable, finding friends in all manner of mortals. He is unfailingly cheerful, loud, and affectionate. He has little to no filter despite his kind nature, and laughs as regularly as he breathes. He enjoys seeing and joining in celebrations and gatherings of friends and family, and it is said that "Wherever a hearth is kept, Jack's smile can be felt". He values and respects strong communities and friendships, and takes pity on those who suffer the loss of people and places dear to them. He gives freely and frequently of his divine power to those deserving or in need of it and respects those who are as generous as he. He is well loved by all mortals, and liked by all but the most sour tempered of gods. The one thing that Jack despises is cannibals and regularly curses those who willingly consume the flesh of other sentient creatures.
Worship
Worship of Jack Daniels is incredibly common and can be found anywhere people share a meal. His influence creates a culture around meals on Orentia, and sharing food and drink is a way to establish a positive relationship between participants. Sharing dinner with someone you are courting, inviting a diplomat to a banquet, and sharing drinks with a business partner are all common results of this cultural norm. Shrines to Jack are commonly found in kitchens, living rooms, and even forges and workshops where the warmth of his hearth is sought. It is common to say a short prayer to Jack before important meals and gatherings to grant the event his favor. He is worshipped for good health, loyalty, community, and the protection of those present at gatherings. His clerics preach generosity, fellowship, and compassion. Their vestments are usually brightly colored, and they wear multiple layers of clothing in their day to day to make it easy to give away a jacket or hat to those in need. Most of his clerics know how to cook, brew, or bake as a matter of pride, and frequently run soup kitchens, taverns, and orphanages.
