Description
Naqnar is an old and powerful goddess, the first patron god of the Human race. Her status as the prime Human deity would later be challenged by the ascension of Ibrahim, and she is now worshiped most strongly by those Humans at the edges of the Empire her rival god founded and those is rural areas. She is also ruler of many minor gods who serve her as vassal angels and are given a seat in her halls in Celestia. Those minor gods who recognize Naqanar as their queen and sovereign over their domains, give up their godhood and become an angel of Naqanar, or Ahura. It is in this way that Naqanar has developed the most powerful individual divine servants of any god on Orentia.
Appearance
Naqanar appears as gigantic human woman, towering above hills and mountains, made of smoke and winds. She wears a golden crown and a regal drass of white and red. She has dark skin and a large nose. She carries in her hand her hammer, and on her waist her ivory horn Amanatun.
Personality
Naqanar is a kind and loving goddess. She values honesty and considers all life to be engaged in a battle between good and evil, truth and lies. She despises and wages war against the dishonest and cruel and pities them even as she crushes them with a firm hand. Of all the gods, she battles the demons and devils from the Abyss most fervently and she favors followers with a similarly zealous stance against evildoers.
Worship
Naqanar is worshiped primarily by humans, especially those who eschew the rigid life of the urban centers. She is invoked when making promises, deals, and vows to bless the truth of one's convictions or drive out lies. Even more frequently however, she is invoked by craftsmen who seek purpose, purity, and hardiness in the tools, weapons, and buildings they create. Temples to Naqanar always contain a vessel containing a burning fire. This fire is used to burn, clean, and purify sacrifices to Naqanar, and the temple attendants take great pains to ensure that it never goes out. Indeed, the fires within all of Naqanar's temples are continuations of the first fire used by Naqanar to create humanity as she molded them from clay and fired them in her kiln. Clerics of Naqanar all wear red cords wrapped about their waist that denote their station, and they teach that all of one's individual choices should each contribute to the battle against corruption and evil in some small way. Such clerics are expected not to lie, and are not usually found among pirates.
