Description
Quetztlaloc is the Orcish corn god who granted their race his I'q, or breath, and tore his scales from his flesh for them to eat. Quetztlaloc is regarded very highly among the Orcish gods as the god who sacrificed the most for the Orcish race. He embodies powerful natural forces, and his flight brings storms and earthquakes to those who have displeased him.
Appearance
Quetztlaloc, like his fellow Orcish gods can transform into an Orc at will. His divine form is that of an enormous winged snake. Several stories wide and miles long, he has scales made of golden corn, and feathers of broad leaves both of which rustle in the wind. He possesses six pairs of wings, and the head of a howler monkey. His Orcish form has a muscular frame, vibrant green skin and long, golden-yellow hair.
Personality
Quetztlaloc is brave, brash, and often uncontrollable. While some way see his behavior as erratic, he always has reasons for his actions. He places great value in the power of natural forces. Of all the Orcish gods, he most frequently brings punishment on those who are deserving, be they ungrateful, dishonorable, or foolhardy.
Worship
Worship of Quetztlaloc is common in all parts of Meuhtoctona, but he is particularly revered by the emperor and his household as a patron god. Worship is especially strong in rural areas, where the people are dependent upon Quetztlaloc for good harvest and shelter from storms. Worship commonly involves sacrifices of grain, livestock, and slaves, and Clerics of Quetztlaloc are known for a ritual wherein they give all of their breath to the god by singing a prayer for hours until the song reaches Quetztlaloc and he pulls the breath from their lungs causing the cleric to asphyxiate and fall unconscious.
