The Pale Ash

The soul falls under the purview of Xol, while Phthysis takes responsibility of the body's decay and preserving death's order. Phthysis judges and curses any who deny the natural cycle of life and death. When he once walked on the material plane, he would slaughter those who defied the order, or he would seek to indoctrinate them and make them druids to repent for the rest of existence. He was once not a cruel being, but cruelty loves to spread like a virus. Out of his kindness, he let a child who was infected with the Evergrowth (Hematodysmorphia) live because he thought he could save her. He couldn't. His decision laid countless bodies on his shoulders. In his eyes, it was a mistake he would never make again.
