Talaan
The Empire of Talaan, devout followers of the Lux Pantheon, proudly upholds the teachings of their revered deities. Established upon the remains of the original Empire of Talaan, this mighty empire claims a noble purpose – to rid the continent of evils and propagate their religious beliefs. Yet, behind the façade of righteousness, Talaan conceals a darker reality.
Throughout its history, Talaan has engaged in controversial practices, such as the historical burnings of Warlocks and Witches. Corruption festers within the government and religious sanctums, casting shadows on the empire's supposed virtue. Additionally, Talaan grapples with issues of species persecution, tarnishing its image of moral rectitude.
Despite these blatant shortcomings, many of Talaan's citizens turn a blind eye, benefiting from the wealth and status the empire provides. The Empire's economic backbone rests on religious assets, architectural designs, farming, and a formidable military available for hire by other countries.
Governed in a manner reminiscent of a traditional medieval kingdom, Talaan operates as a unique blend of monarchy and theocracy. The Emperor of Talaan, often serving as a symbolic figurehead, receives directives from the ruling council known as "The Prophets of Lux". Sanctus Ferrum, the imperial capital, stands as a testament to the duality of Talaan – a bastion of religious fervor and an empire shrouded in moral ambiguity.
