Dead lands
A big portion of the western continent, known for its inhospitality. Most creatures cannot survive there and have a chance to get the sandy death disease from even a short stay.
Geography
It is a desert, with a high altitude over sea level, making it dry and lacking any body of water. It has recognizable orange sandstone pillars, that slowly decay over time.
Ecosystem
The only creatures living there are kobolds that have grown accustomed to the deadly disease-causing sand. Many creatures that live in the Dead Lands are self-sustaining and or live and hunt underground.
Localized Phenomena
1. The sandstorms are a closely daily occurrence and are very deadly for any adventurer trapped out there.
2. The phenomenon of the decaying sandstone pillars - it is believed that once, long ago there was a mountain that had plants and rainfall, so much so that streams were being made. As it progressed it started cutting a valley in the finely sanded sandstone. Over time, with nothing to stop the winds from thrashing through the valleys, it didn't take long until the sandstone was being cleared out, all plantation was lost, water was sucked deep within the earth, only leaving the strongest integrity sandstone pillars still standing. They are decaying still, but not as fast as they once did, the structures seem strong enough to withstand the fast winds, so much so, that kobold tribes have made their mouses inside the pillars of sandstone.
Natural Resources
The sand in the desert has been valued the best for glassblowing, for its special composition, it is ideal for making resilient, nice looking glass, although not many risk going there, to harvest it, fearing contracting the sandy death disease (a disease from breathing in the sand, that cannot be stopped by cloths or mouth covers, because of its fine composition).
