The feather of note taking
A quill imbued by magic, originally made by a wizard named Drizletop. The quill was made to take notes from a person speaking, while not taking up the hands of the speaker. It was made, so that Drizletop and his colleagues could take notes, while still working on their experiments.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
You start by stating ''Start notetaking; Start letter; Start report'', after which it will scribe anything said by the original speaker of the words, all other sounds are ignored (thaumaturgy or other magics that mimic the voice of the author are also picked up.)
If the same voice is made to speak at the same time as a magical replica then the words written down will be of the louder one.
It then wrights it all down in one of the given languages: common, elvish, dwarvish, fiendish, celestial, draconic. It also has the option to write in the corresponding lettering.
In order to work, it must have a blank page and ink to work with. If the ink ends or the page is filled up and there are no more pages left to write in, the feather will start to tap at the ink bottle making it known to the author that something is needed.
At the end of writing the author must say ''Notetaking end; letter end; report end'' at which point the quill will end with
''This ____ was written with the quill of notetaking.''
