Reckless Archipelago

Directly to south of Havenport lies an archipelago of several hundred small, warm islands; collectively known as the Reckless Archipelago. It obtained its ominous name from the disproportionate amount of dangers encountered by the sole surviving log of the ill-fated 12th Expeditionary Fleet of the Havenport Geographical Foundation.

Population

Officially, no one lives in the Reckless Archipelago. However, in 25 C.G, the Havenport Geographical Foundation created an outpost in the Archipelago, but the outpost only lasted a few months before

Geography

The geography of the Reckless Archipelago is relatively consistent throughout, with the vast majority of islands being small and tropical. Most islands have a large beach, and a few scattered palm trees growing on them. However, the climate gets progressively colder as the latitude decreases. The most apparent feature of the archipelago is the massive volcano near the center of the archipelago. The peak of the volcano towers half a mile above the sea, and is covered in snow and ice up to the crater. The volcano occasionally spews smoke from the crater, though strangely it seems no closer to erupting than it was on the day it was first discovered.

Fauna & Flora

Flora

The islands have a small diversity of plant life, limited by their small size. For the most part, the only plants that can be found in the Archipelago are palm trees, mangrove trees, ferns, and various grasses.

Fauna

The largest land animal ever recorded on the islands was a wild hog, weighing in at 400lbs. The oceans have much more biodiversity to them; even though the area has only been briefly explored, 37 new species of octopus alone have been cataloged.

Natural Resources

The Archipelago doesn't offer much in the way of resources. The majority of the islands are too small to offer much in the way of resources; they offer mostly coconuts, Most of the value offered from the Archipelago comes from the black market offered by the locals.
