Hrimling

Hrimlings, also called frost genasi, hail almost exclusively from cold climes. They are known to be highly resilient, with a knack for survival that aids them not only in a snowbound winter landscape, but in all adverse conditions. Many Hyyla are hrimlings, and hrimlings command great respect in Hyylic culture.   A hrimling might have pale or blue-tinged skin, ice-blue eyes, and hair permanently rimed with ice. One might expect them to have remote and cold personalities to match, but often the opposite is true—many frost genasi are robust and spirited individuals with a strong lust for life.
hrimling traits:
  • Bloodline Magic (2/3). You can take this trait twice; each time you do, you gain access to a new “tier” of spells, as detailed below. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
    1. You know the frostbite cantrip.
    2. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast armor of Agathys as a 1st-level spell once per long rest.
  • Damage Resistance (1). You have resistance to cold damage.
  • Freezing Blows (3). When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can cause the creature to take extra cold damage equal to your proficiency bonus. The creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or lose the ability to take reactions until the beginning of your next turn. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
  • Hardy (2). You have advantage on saving throws made to avoid exhaustion. In addition, your Constitution modifier counts as doubled (minimum of 1) for the purposes of calculating the amount of days you can go without food before suffering adverse effects. You still need to drink water as usual.
  • Survivalist (2). You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to follow tracks and forage for food.
  • Tundra Stride (1). You can move across difficult terrain made of snow and ice without expending extra movement.
