Diminishing Returns

The Law of Diminishing Returns effects most uses of magic, but is most noticeable when it comes to both healing and resurrection. The effects of this law are temporary when applied to healing by magical means. Accelerated healing is hard on the body, and while the recipient may be healed, this healing is fragile and in many cases, won't take much to undo. Just as stitches can tear open, so can a magically healed wound. It may be more resilient at first, but each additional healing nets a far less effective result. The body needs time, sometimes a day but as much as a week, to catch up and recover fully.

In the case of resurrection, depending on the severity of the wounds, the Law of Diminishing Returns is significant. There are only so many resurrections a body can handle, and resurrection sickness will increase in severity and duration every time the same subject is brought back to life. It should also be noted here that there is a point of no return and recalling a patient into a body that can no longer sustain life risks leading to undeath.
