Corpseflower
Native to Serrus, the Corpseflower would be a beautiful plant if it weren't for its deadly reputation. It grows only on decaying flesh of specifically humans and Durgol. It can grow on dead animals and creatures as well, but it is much rarer. The plant itself is a small vine that spreads over the corpse and flowers into many red flowers similar to what could be mistaken for a red daisy.
The flowers on the plant are held on loosely and when a creature approaches the plant and disturbs the vines, the flowers extract their pollen and flower petals into the air. Contact with the petals causes a thin layer of sticky red powder to cling to the skin. The powder is corrosive and will begin to quickly cause necrotizing of the skin. At the same time, the pollen, when inhaled, begins swelling of the esophagus and qucikly suffocates the victim.
This flower makes a battlefield quickly look like a beautiful field of red, albeit deadly, flowers. Morticians and grave diggers are taught to recognize this flower immediately. Protective clothing and a mask can prevent the spread of the flower and bodies covered in Corpseflower are usually burnt immediately to avoid it propagating further.
