Elves

Eladrin were the first Elves and their history goes back far beyond written record, but it's told they were the first humanoid race created by the gods in the times of the primordials. Elves are Eldrin who left the feywild and settled in the prime plane many millenia ago. They have since split off from their orginal lineage into several new subraces.   With their unearthly grace and fine features, elves appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just over 6 feet. They are more slender than humans, weighing only 100 to 150 pounds. Males and females are about the same height, and males are only marginally heavier than females.   Elves’ coloration encompasses the normal human range and also includes skin in shades of copper, bronze, and bluish-white, hair of green or blue, and eyes like pools of liquid gold or silver. Elves have no facial and little body hair.   Elves can live well over 700 years, giving them a broad perspective on events that might trouble the shorter-lived races more deeply. They are more often amused than excited, and more likely to be curious than greedy. They tend to remain aloof and unfazed in the face of most events. When pursuing a goal, however, such as adventuring on a mission or learning a new skill or art, elves can be focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends or enemies, and even slower to forget them. They reply to petty insults with disdain, and to serious insults with vengeance.

High Elves

High Elves are generally more pale, with lighter colored eyes and longer staighter hair. They Prioritize beauty and grace in everything that they do. They favor elegant clothing in bright colors, flowing fabrics and simple yet lovely jewelry. They create stunning, nature inspired cities that wouldn't be out of place if found in the heavenly upper plane of Elysium. High Elves settled on the coasts of Alvenloch and are the original residents of the now human capital which bears the same name. High Elf weaponsmiths and craftsmen are touted as being the most skilled of any other race bar none. Given their long lifespan, Elves have unbridled patience and will gladly spend years creating a single masterwork weapon. The death of an elderly High Elf is an event of tremendous pain, because of the loss of knowledge and wisdom cultivated over centuries. High Elves are expected to catalogue their lives so their wisdom will not go to waste upn their death.   After their defeat at the hands of the humans roughly 450 years ago they were exiled to the outskirts of a lake refered to as 'The Abyss'. A proper boarder was later drawn of this new land was called the Fyenathyr Reservation. The new high Elf Capital is called Ile Thalas.

Wood Elves

Wood elf skin tones tend to be on the tanner side and their hair more often dirty blondes, reds and bowns. Wood Elves are more pragmatic than High Elves. While they too dress in beautiful, finely crafted silks and flawless stone and wood jewelry, they also need to be functional and durable, to hold up to their forest dwelling lifestyle. Wood Elves create equally spectacular cities as those of the High Elves. In their case however, their cities aren't only nature 'inspired' like the High Elf cities, but made from nature themselves. Much of the Wood Elves cities, are supported by magically supersized trees and plants, still very much alive and living alongside the Elves in a mutually beneficial ecosystem. Wood elf trees, cultivated over the course of centuries can grow to the size of skyscrapers.   Wood Elves settled in various locations around the continents. The largest poulations of them settled in the forests of the present day Diving Lands and Tazwana (at that time called the Ashse Dorei), in addition to the future location of the Fyenathyr Reservation. After the Alvenloch High Elves were kicked from their lands, the newly displaced and highly aggravated High Elves turned what remained of their army on the underprepared Ashse Dorei Wood Elves. More Wood Elves were killed in a single month than the amount of High Elves that died in 4 years of war with the humans. The once thriving Wood Elf civilization has never fully recovered from this massacre which the wood elves refer to as Det Stor Viket (The Great Betrayal).   Two major bastions of Wood Elf civilations remain. The Dividing lands, which is governed by the Empire but kept as traditional as possible by the Elvish, Glynnorin Noble house what acts as the regions Marquee. Their main city is called Ellal Unarith. The other Bastion is made up of the remaining Ashse Dorei Elves that regrouped after Det Stor Viket in their only remaining tree city that remained unburned by the High Elves, Nysa Thalore.

Sea Elves

Sea Elves are adapted to an aquatic lifestyle. They can breath both water and air, they also have retractable webbing on ther hands and feet to maneuver underwater. Their hair color and skin tones range from gray to blue to green. They don't wear much in the way of clothing. When underwater they often go around with little more than a pouch slung over their shoulders, much to the delight of sailors and the abject horror of innocent beachgoers. Their clothing that they do where is mainly ornamental, made from shell, kitin or cold forge metals. They share the High Elves love of beautiful, nature inspired cities but they build them completly submerged and are more liberal in their use of blues and greens. They are generally peaceful and are good friends of Tritons and other aquatic humanoid races.   Because of their aquatic lifestyle, they have rarely come into conflict with Humans despite living under the surface of the same lake the High Elves were Exiled from. Up until the war with the humans, High Elves and Sea Elves lived as inseparable allies. During the siege of Alvenloch however, when the Sea Elves failed to uphold their vow to protect the High Elves in the event of an attack, they were labeled as cowardly traitors to the High Elves but remain strong allies of the Empire to this day.

Dark Elves

These elves were the last to separate into their own subrace. They started off as early High Elves but they were banished from the surface world for following the goddess Lolth down the path of evil. Now they have built their own civilization in the depths of the Underdark, patterned after the Way of Lolth. Drow have skin that resembles charcoal or obsidian, as well as stark white or pale yellow hair. They commonly have very pale eyes (so pale as to be mistaken for white) in shades of lilac, silver, pink, red, and blue. They tend to be smaller and thinner than most elves. They are also prolific slave traders, and enemies of all other underground races, including the similarly brutal Duergar.   Their society is a matriarchy and run by the priestesses of Lolth. Husbands are treated primarily as a status symbol of their wives and are hand picked to breed the strongest offspring. Men are often set to kill each other in tournaments to win over females. Men who are weak of body and mind are either beheaded or castrated and thrown into labor jobs to build the Drows terrifying black rock/glass cities. These breeding methods have resulted in the Drows low population number but each individual Drow is a terrifying force to reckon with. The average Drow citizen can easily hold their own against the best trained forces of any other Elvish Race.

Eladrin

Eladrin are elves native to the Feywild, a realm of beauty, unpredictable emotion, and boundless magic. Eladrin are on the opposite end of the specrum of emotion from High Elves. While High Elves place importance on stoicism, Eladrin place importance on passion and whimsy. An eladrin is associated with one of the four seasons and has coloration and appearance reminiscent of that season, which also has an affect the Eladrin’s personality:   Autumn is the season of peace and goodwill, when summer’s harvest is shared with all.   Winter is the season of contemplation and dolor, when the vibrant energy of the world slumbers.   Spring is the season of cheerfulness and celebration, marked by merriment as winter’s sorrow passes.   Summer is the season of boldness and aggression, a time of unfettered energy.   An Eladrin's season appearance is hereditary. Most Eladrin remain associated with a particular season for their entire lives. Rarely, an Eladrin will have an experience strong enough to permanently change their seasonal appearance. Perhaps you witnessed the murder of your loved one and so you took on the sullen and introspective traits of a winter Eladrin. Maybe you reunite with the love of your life after a decade, and your joy makes you take on the traits of a Spring Eladrin. This change though is so rare as to only effect maybe 1 out of every 500 or so. Even more rare is to be born as an Umilythe; An Eladrin who's appearance changes with the passing of the seasons and has greater control over all their emotions. 1 in 5000 are born as an Umilythe. They are held in sacred standing and are treated as spirtual leaders and wise sages.   The Eladrin society is divided into 4 courts. 1 for each season. The Courts aren't necesarily always on the best terms and occasionaly engage in small scale war, particular between summer and winter. The Eladrin Capital called Varsommerhostvinter is a neutral zone, kept devoid of conflict by the Umilythe, who act as peacekeepers in wartime. The city is a sprawling metropolis divided into 4 quadrants, each with it's own magically created weather. At the center of each quadrant is a palace for the representatives of each seasons court. The 4 way joining point in the center of the city contains the Umilythe Spire, where the Umilythe reside and offer their guidance. Each court also has their own capital cities spread out across the Feywild named Var, Sommer, Host, and Vinter.   Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma score increases by 1, or choose another ability score to increase by 1   If you gain more than one increase, you can’t apply those increases to the same ability score, and you can’t increase a score above 20.
