The Godly Conspiracy Theory

In Orya, there is a group of people that believe in a conspiracy theory that Vetris Altrix was created by the gods to destroy all other races. This theory is popular among Humans and Aldmeri, though most civil discussions don’t bring up the topic. Those that believe in the conspiracy theory are distrustful of the gods, and some even believe the gods are evil. The conspiracy theory goes that the gods created Vetris Altrix to destroy the races, though the details change from version to version. Some versions include all gods in the conspiracy, while others only involve a few. Even among these variations, still more variations exist. Which specific gods are included depends on who’s telling the theory. Different versions are more popular in different areas, with the most popular version among Humans is the one that includes all gods, as they have been ravaged by the gods’ schemes the most.
Is there any truth to the theory? Yes! Though the degree of truth varies tremendously between versions. The full truth is that Kalzak and Malence were jealous of the other gods, who were allowed to create their own races, while they were not. They used the Atom to craft an incredibly powerful being, stronger than most other mortals on the planet, and gave her the desire to destroy all other races. Rew also helped in creating Vetris, however he intended to use her to eliminate a threat he had foreseen which he believed would be a far more dangerous threat to the universe than anything that had been seen before.
Many who hear the conspiracy theory aren’t persuaded. Most of them believe the Humans are just bitter about the things that have happened to them in the past. Some Aldmeri believe in the theory as well, though they are much less likely to talk about it.
