11-04-2022 - Session 4

  • Sho turns in the tent, draws his dagger and cuts a in the back of the tent to get out and runs as fast as he can from the camp.
  • - Running he sees the beast behind him tearing into the tent trying to get through. - He also sees a person on a mount start making chase and that his allies are looking to have surrendered. - Seeing that Sho won't be able to escape and that his allies aren't making a move he decides to stop and head back towards his allies. Heading directly towards the mounted man. - Getting closer to the mounted man he said halt and surrender. Sho complied and followed him back to Sho's allies. - Back with his allies the man with the horn made another sound and soon the orc with the headdress came out.
  • Now with the group the orc with the headdress started to question us.
  • - He asked why we were there and why we entered into their camp without permission. - He gave us the options of Sho taking punishment along or as a group. - Sho said that he will take it alone and he need not involve his allies, but the others in the group spoke up to accept punishment along side Sho.
  • The people escorted us back to where we saw the wooden pillars.
  • - They said we needed to enter the hole found within the circle. If we make it through the ruins alive then we are absolved of our transgression. - The ruins are the remnants of a fallen city and there are similar sites around the dessert. Some with the building still above the ground.
  • We all started to make our way into the hole that was found.
  • - Sho headed in first and slowly climbed down the sheer cliff-face. - Made our way slowly through tight passages. - We found a large stone door with a key hole and text written in eleven, 'defend'. - Arthorius detected abjuration magic and we then started to attack the door. - Eventually Sho decided to try and pick the door which unlocked it and they made their way into the chamber.
  • Inside Arhorius tripped a pressure plate that lit all the fire basins. There were 4 rusty suits of armors, 4 runes surrounding a handle in the middle of the room, and a blue crystal above.
  • - Arthorius could see that magic was getting sent to the runes from the blue crystal one at a time. - Kai stood on one of the runes and took heavy damage from the beam. - Then we all decided to pull on the handle and it activated one of the suits of armor that we decided to detroy. The armor became shiny metal. - Using the metal we tested not charging the runes which didn't seem to do anything. - We pulled the handle again and Kai directed a beam at one of the runes destroying it and causing damage to everyone nearby. - After people had been injured and some feeling tapped for their own unique abilities, we are thinking that maybe we need to try to rest being advancing any further.

    10-21-2022 - Session 3

  • We inspected the carts and the bodies in the area for a bit longer.
  • We decided to follow the tracks of the carts and large animals.
  • - On our way we eventually reached the end of the hard soil and ended up at sandy dessert. Entering the sand the tracks disappeared. - Arthorius decided to cast Detect Magic and saw that there was faint illusionary magic that was the width of the path and headed into the dessert. - Using Arthorius to keep an eye on the path and slowly following him we made our way. - Eventually we used other tactics to keep on the track. It winded around large rocks.
  • When it started to near sunrise we stopped to make camp, but we were ill prepared for making camp in the dessert.
  • - During one of the watches people saw a glinting light in the distance, but no one decided to go look into the source. - Eventually we saw a person riding a large animal traveling South from the area of the glint. - Sho and Kai decided to try and head off the person or at least track them. - The mounted person was far too fast for us to head them off, but we found the tracks and started following to see if we could see anything in the distance. - After some searching we didn't find anything and headed back to camp to inform them of what we did/didn't find.
  • Once all of the party woke up after their rest we informed them of what had transpired.
  • - Then we discussed the best course of action. By this point the magic had fully faded, we had dunes to the West, and savanna to the East. - The group decided to follow the tracks of the mounted person and see where they led.
  • Following the tracks.
  • - Along the way we saw wooden pillars in a circle and the tracks going around. - We eventually saw an encampment in the distance. - We moved in close to try and get a look at who was in the camp, but weren't able to discern anything. - We discussed our next move, but couldn't come to a decision. - Sho thinking that it best for him to go alone to try and discern anymore information snuck in closer. - He wasn't as stealthy as he intended and roused people from the camp. - They came out to see what the disturbance was. Sho lying on the ground after seeing them come out and trying to garner any attention. - One of the animals looked straight at Sho. Sho stood up trying to show no aggression by raised his hands. The man on the animal raised a horn and blew. He then brandished some bolas and started towards Sho. - Sho turned and ran towards the encampment and teleported to where they couldn't see him. - He then disguised himself to look as close as he could as one of the masked men. - Walking into the camp a orc with a headdress pointed at him and then at one of the animals while saying something in a language Sho didn't understand. - Sho walked to animal and attempted to mount them to ride, but never having met animal like this he something very wrong and the animal lashed out at him. - Garnering attention from others Sho tries to walk away from the animal and backs into a tent. The creature follows him inside. - Outside the camp one of the men on the mounts finds the others and tells them to surrender. He whistles and Sho hears this in the camp. - Some of them surrender and get on their knees(Markus, Elouise, Arthorius). - Isla and Kai stay back and don't change their demeanor. - While talking Elouise brings out her cat and he gets 'eaten' by the animal and goes poof.

    10-14-2022 - Session 2

  • Internal investigation happening for the city.
  • - Started about 5 days ago.
  • Caravan Details
  • - Day and half to 2 days to the Southeast. - 4 Wagons, unsure on items being transported. - 12-15 people, none came back. - Some animals that would suck, Drakes from Korifé Peaks near the dunes, Kotherian vipers.
  • Varu, orcish warband
  • - Been around for a long time
  • Went back to the Rat and Dagger to rest up before heading off on the road again.
  • - The spoke about their plan of when they should leave and if they needed any items. - Sho went up to his room to send a message back home. - "City of Gul-Dratum, undead appear to be under the city. Local authorities to handle. Will update if something changes."
  • Went to the library to research information in the surrounding area.
  • - Kai looked up information about animals. - Found barely any new information. Just about the drakes and Kothirian vipers. - Kothirian vipers are about 20' in length, all black, and ambush. - Drakes are descendant of dragons, but lack their intelligence. Some people train them to be mounts. - Eloise looked up information about the orcish warbands. - Chief would be the most highly decorated person. They fight to figure out the leader. - Sho looked up information about plants. - Cactus that grows fruit harvested for water and nutrients. - Scorched Savanah, low maintenance trees. - Plains, hardly any plants. - Barren Dune, single type of flower with red petals(no known alchemical use in this book) - In the swamp lands there might be a chance of poisonous plants.
  • Made our way to look for the caravan.
  • - First night, nothing happened.
  • Arrived at the caravan
  • - Sho inspected and found that the bodies where attacked by animals and were hit by arrows and the arrows looked to be of decent quality.

    10-07-2022 - Session 1

  • Picked up our journey where we just arrived at Gul-Dratum.
  • Spoke with guard about the hold up about getting into the city.
  • - They said that no one was allowed in or out of the city until the investigation is over. - Suggested we stay at the 'Rat and Dagger'
  • Made our way to the 'Rat and Dagger' in the Crasmine Hovel
  • - Spoke with the bartender about getting some rooms. - People roomed in pairs, Kai & Sho, Isla & Eloise, Markus & Arthurius. - Sho asked the bartender if they heard any rumors. He said heard that the royals were robbed, but doesn't know much outside of that. - Chatted around a table and then went upstairs to discuss things. - Sho went down stairs to listen in on the people in the pub, they are generally confused about what is going on and why they aren't being told anything. - Talking about the Varu attacking, but they also think a very unlikely option. - Asked bartender about things to do around town. - Hammered Stone, dwarf guild does mining in the area. - Could find some brothel's about.
  • Left the inn to go look for sewer entrances.
  • - Had seen 3 locations and went to investigate the middle grate. - While there Markus saw a person just standing there watching. So Markus went over and gave him some coin to go get a drink. - The person came back with others who tried to ask for us to share the rest of our money with them. We ended up fighting and killing them.
  • Isla went over to the grate and broke the lock. The whole party entered the and started exploring down paths.
  • - *Map*
  • Climbed out the sewer and was surrounded by the guards.
  • - Caravan attacked, that was to the SE. Capture preferred else kill whatever did this. - First Paladin Deacon, Guard at the front of the city.
  • Went back to the inn to take a long rest.
