The town of Sundered Gifts on the eastern side of Ostelliach is considered an anomaly by scholars of all stripes and as such is as much a research site as it is a functional settlement.   The town and its immediate surrounding area is made of a type of mineral-rich soil that is unique to that area, including flora and fauna that are wholly unseen elsewhere. The microorganisms in this soil are known to contribute to extremely nutritious plant growth, but only for the flora found in the region already; all other types of plants die a quick, unsalvageable death as invasive species.   This unique, stubborn biosphere in addition to the rock formations in the area and the history geologists note in the striation indicate that, despite no written history to detail it, the town of Sundered Gifts fell from a great height (perhaps floating) to where it currently rests. Thus, the town gathered its name, describing a land sundered from whatever magical position it once held.   The people of Sundered Gifts (those not drawn there simply by academic curiosity) are a quieter, more reserved type focused on keeping their heads down, focusing on tending their unique rocks, their unique soil, their unique plants. They have a culture that values tenacity and inquisitiveness alongside knowing when to mind your own business.
