Duankh (Du-ahngk)
Seasons
Duankh is a balmy continent - with the exception of the chilly Duankhian Mountain Range and the humid coastline - and each of the regions experiences the passing of the season differently. Northern Duankh is always blanketed by snow and endures bitter and deadly winters. East Coast Duankh enjoys a long pleasant autumn but braves a violent, sandstorm-rich summer. Western Duankh suffers from dismal, rainy weather year-round. Southern Duankh enjoys the blessings of a verdant spring year long, save for the winds that cut along the plains in spring and autumn.
Holidays
The different nations of Duankh celebrate different holidays, though some of the gods' holy days are consistent across the land. Notably, the Heh' Empire has banned the worship of all gods within its borders, and thus only celebrates the holidays of its singular legal god and ruler, the Eternal Queen. Holidays unrelated to the gods celebrated across the continent in some form include the following: Summer's Crest. Summer begins at high noon on the 10th of Tinihe and is celebrated with games, displays of magic, and large parties. Winter's Crown. Winter's longest night, the 15th of Whinu is a day of solemn prayer and introspection. Winters are a harsh reminder of those lost, and on this day pyres in honor of the fallen are lit.Nations
The nations of Duankh are Philae, Heh'n Empire, Kala-Kau, Kuu'land, Apeti, Shuphyr, and Waikusa.
