Siege of Onyà

The Siege of Onyà is considered the origin of General Omolara's legacy as an Exalted. Onyà was a labor camp ran by a powerful devil and due to her leadership and selflessness General Omolara was able to ensure that the siege only lasted a few days. Omolara refused to leave a man behind let alone a group of men. Disobeying a direct order, Omolara took a contignent of Purgers and RIMs and headed for Onyà.

After clearing the hordes of demons that guarded the pathway to Onyà, Omolara decided that the only way to win against overwhelming numbers was to cut off the head of the leader and present it to the fiends within. Therefore, she snuck in undetected and searched for the devil in charge.

The Conflict

Prelude

Sieging Onyà was never in the plan for Exalted aspirant Nafsi, commander of General Omolara, but after a scouting party sent out by Omolara was captured and taken back to Onyà plans changed. Accounts of the day are foggy but many recall General Omolara approaching Nafsi and requesting they change course for Onyà and rescue her troops. After Nafsi refused profusely, Omolara went behind his back and rallied a contigent of Purgers to her side and confronted him again.

"They are your men, you trained them and led them here and now you leave them to waste away at the end of a whip. You are not the man I once knew. If you will not help then ground this RIM and I will go myself."
— General Omolara to Exalted Aspirant Nafsi

With a small number of men, Omolara disembarked and headed for Onyà to rescue her captured troops and to free the others within.

Deployment

The initial plan was to strike hard and fast but it became apparent quickly to General Omolara that they were expected. Outside of Onyà hordes of demons were posted up, they were the first line of defense. All of Omolara's forces were used to clear the way, once at the gates setting up a forward camp was in order.

For the siege, the Purgers with their small numbers created three parties that would attack Onyà all at once without actually trying to breach the city. General Omolara would scale the mountain side that hugs Onyà and drop in from the far side.

Battlefield

A hellish landscape, the labor camp of Onyà sat in the middle of a semi-circle shaped mountain range. Passing under a stone archway marked the path to the front door. Given Onyà's position the sun's heat and brightness were dampened significantly.

Conditions

The weather was normal for Lanfe but subdued by the presence of the mountain range surrounding the city.
