Hello, and welcome to Out-Worlders!
Below you will find a list of questions that I hope can clarify any questions.
-What is "Out-Worlders"?
This is a large worldbuilding project that is highly inspired by the work of Shirtaloon, author of the series He Who Fights With Monsters, with my own original spin on the concept of a LitRPG / Progressive Fiction.
-Why are you making this? / What is the purpose of this?
Worldbuilding is a huge passion of mine. I have been a hobbyist writer for over a decade now, and I find this particular form of writing to be very enjoyable. This is also a resource I will utilize in collabrative writing and roleplay with others.
-What is the genre? / What are the main themes?
This is a standard high-fantasy world, elves to orcs with swords and sorcery. Typically, it will fall into action-adventure as the main focal point. That said, plenty of opportunities for drama, romance, horror, etc. I like to explore themes surrounding ethics and morality, challenging authority, and corruption by power, all with a shade of grimdark.
-There is too much information. Is there a summary available?
I understand that this level of lore can be overwhelming to some. Even I can drown in all the words at times. For a condensed version of the important details, please take a look at the Fundamentals article.
-This doesn't match my tastes, do you have other worlds?
Yes! I have one other semi-fleshed out world set in the medieval era, with much less fantasy elements. If the era doesn't match with you, I have enough abandoned projects to fill a small library. I can play the necromancer and bring one back from the dead for you. However, I am focusing my current efforts into developing this world.
-I really like _____, can I use it?
All information contianed in Out-Worlders is free-use, and you have my expressed permission to do so. The only exception being the world map, as this was a commission and I don't want to be in the middle of any grey areas.
-I have an idea, can I contribute?
What are you, some kind of angel? YES!
-You made a mistake here. / There is a continuity error here.
Please tell me where and I will not rest until it is fixed. Humanity's extinction will not be able to stop me from resolving my mistakes.
Something I feel you could play with is maybe the presence of magitech. If not possible though, I guess just the idea of magic and technology has always interested me.
