Cathasach Cagailt

Pronunciation: KOH-a-sokh kah-KAIL-je

The small village rises around me, scattered little homesteads making up the heart of my village. I can see my home, a rough and tumble inn accompanied by a small stable and paddock. My father is out working one of the horses under his charge there, myself beside him, learning how to read the beast and teach it to work as one with its handler. My mother and sister are inside, serving a handful of strangers passing through.
— OUTSPOKEN, Book One, Chapter 11

Overview

The Cathasach Cagailt was a small inn and tavern in the village of Muintir, run by the Cathasach family for three generations. It served travelers seeking medical attention from the Dochtuir family, those passing through along the northeast river path of Éirigh, and those in need of Uchtach Cathasach's skill with horses. In the OUTSPOKEN trilogy, we know it only through Uchtach's son, Lucian "Deordhan" Cathasach, and his traumatic flashbacks of The Burning of Muintir.
