Demographics

The largest demographic in Ardglass are Selkies. There is a moderate population of Minotaur and Gnomes, and a small population of humans.

Government

Ardglass is under the control of the Selkie people. It has a Laird who deals with trade from the Ovenican capitals, facilitates the passage of Selkies traveling to the Western Gate, and occasionally receives orders from the Selkie King.

Industry & Trade

Ardglass facilitates much of the sea trade in the west of Ovenica. Merchants from the capital cities travel to Ardglass to trade with the Selkies for rare materials from the bottom of the sea and even the Plane of Water. Most of the Selkies who live here work fishing boats for a living or tend the large kelp farms beneath the waves which, when dried, mainlanders use for all sorts of things from clothing to food.

History

Ardglass was originally little more than a few huts the Selkies guarding the Western Gate used to store food and supplies above water. Over time, when mainlanders began to notice them there a bustling trade town grew, focusing mainly around the sale of Kelp.
