Causes

Vampirism is contracted through the bite of a vampire or infected blood coming into contact with non infected blood.

Symptoms

Begins with paleness and aversion to sunlight in the first few weeks. Within a month the victim is a full blown vampire. Alternatively Sovereign Vampires are able to create Vampire Spawn: weaker versions of vampires whose bite can only create more Vampire Spawn.

Treatment

In the early stages, excessive ingestion of garlic has had small results in suppressing the vampirism for longer, but no cure has been found short of divine magic.
A cleric using the proper spells can cure a newly turned vampire as long as the spell is cast before the first month passes.
