Gren's Grave

Belonging to Gren the Gormless Ghast, Gren's Grave is a featured landmark of the Forest of Pain. It exists near the outer borders of the forest, making it more accessible than others like the Crimson Cathedral or the Gorman estate.
The crypt itself is rather ornate and was meant to be the final resting place for some duke or other. His wife had an affair with the gardener, the duke killed them both, and then found it rather difficult to get away with it. Part of the repayment for his crime was for the gardener to take his crypt and rest in honor and opulence. The timing is unclear but it is believed that this was shortly after the Forest began to get its darker reputation.
But of course our gardener is the foolhardy Gren, who was transformed by the magic infusing the Forest, and became a ghast by the will of the local necromancer. This backfired, as Gren was literally the type to get caught with his pants down. Even the almost penniless necromancer had to give up on this particular entity as too stupid.
Still, the crypt itself is quite lovely, and Gren is a feature on most warrior apprentice cycles as a skills test.
