Every dark cult has to start somewhere. Some of them just pick it up in sunshine-y little slices of heaven.

The Cult of Zeminek is one of the more commonly known organizations specifically bent on the destruction of the world. As such, their headquarters get destroyed quite regularly, and their place of origin was lost to the void for quite some time. Literally.
It had to have been in Chemnos because that was the well-documented place of origin for the cult, since their whole Zhomek's Inferno has to happen in that country because that's how it goes. People looking for this mysterious point of origin included the cult itself and also people who hated them enough to try to find the lost and ruined town just to burn it down again.
Turned out it was stuck in a void the whole time. Connected in some way to Disember Inn and the phenomenon that surrounds that tavern, the town recently reappeared, and it turned out that people actually knew what it was.
Once upon a time, before the Cult of Zeminek was properly a thing, Mont Detrimentum was the largest source of bad-luck magic in the known world. Eventually the fount was moved when Chemnos began its push toward a more scientific aesthetic, but the reputation and the name remained.
It is, in its present state, described as a moldering collection of ragged buildings held together by willpower and the spite of those unfortunate enough to have to live there. Most of the buildings have something of a classical, elegant air, which gives the whole town the sense that something grandiose used to live there and now it's been destroyed.
