Battle of Highlands Pass

The Battle of Highland Pass was one of the few battle's actually fought during the Rebellion against the Dark Wing Empire, with the others being fought at Kallen and Kamarath. Highland pass was the battle fought by the Dwarven military, marching down from the city of Undara to aid in taking the Citadel, they encountered resistance in the valley along the Highland pass.   Starting their march in Undara, 5% of the Ixmorian military remained at the crossroads leading back to Undara, down the Highland Pass or along the Kallen Artery. The resistance faced was lessened by the recall of the Shadow Orc's away from the battle by Inday, as a part of the chess game being played by himself and fellow Lord Gondri against the Imposter God, Dante.   The battle was decisively won due to the leadership of Lord Benmus Dragonbreath, dividing the army into three units, swarming around the opposing resistance to overwhelm them with men, as well as catch them by suprise by sending the forces at different time. The Eastern and Western forces moving through the forests alongside the road, with a larger central force moving down the road straight ahead. Over the course of an hour, the central force made thier assault, with the eastern force breaking into their assault 20 minutes later, and the western 30 minutes after that.

The Conflict

Battlefield

The battle of the Highland Pass, was fought along the Highland pass road in Dragontide; between Greenache Peaks and Torren's Range, the highland pass is a 60 mile wide valley connecting the Hold to the Highlands.

Outcome

The capture of 7,000 humans, and the continued march southwards to the Citadel.

Aftermath

In the long term, the after effects of the Battle of Highland Pass, as well as the whole war itself, was felt by the human's who remained after their corruption was ended and their souls returned to normal. The families of the humans lost in the battle held a great resentment against their northern neighbours, with a greater hatred against the former Empress Rosalind, and the 'gods' that aided her, and abandoned them. Anti religious sentiments were held by the Dragontide Humans for many years after the war, and whilst nearly 500 years have passed since the war, the sentiment can still be felt in many smaller human villages or towns.
