Career Progression
There is very little career progression for a book keeper, besides being allowed to leave the profession and begin work as a librarian or researcher. The job is a punishment afterall.
Payment & Reimbursement
Book keepers do not recieve any payment, as most are in the profession as a punishment, and are only granted with a room, three square meals, and access to the wealth of knowledge held in the Libirinithia's libraries that they serve. The Minotaurs of Libirinithia having a very different relationship with punishment and judicial process than other regions in Erendoc, or across Oxdara, this form of punishment only really seen as a punishment by those who grew up in the culture.
Perception
Purpose
Book keepers are the members of the various libraries in Libirinthia who are responsible for the transcribing of new books to be shelved in their libraries, or retranscribing old tomes that have been damage or overused, and need replacing. Once the old book has been retranscribed and reshelved, the old book is unneeded, and in most cases falling apart and no use to anyone anymore, so they are burnt or disposed of. This has lead book keeping to being seen as a dirty and lower class proffession, seeing the destruction of any knowledge as something too look down on, even if that knowledge has been carefully rewritten in its original state in a new book.

Book keepers are the lowest ranking job at the many libraries of Libirinthia, and is often given to a person as a form of punishment.

Scribing and Rescribing Books - Either completely new tomes for the libraries or old books that have been damaged
Burning of Old Damaged Books - Disposing of unneeded copies, whilst some do get donated to other libraries in other cities if they are of a decent enough quality, most are burnt.
Keeping Library Stocks Full - Making sure that the many lanterns, candle holders, ink wells, quill pots and parchment piles are well stocked for anyone who may have use of them.
